I enter through a back entrance that leads to a small dark cave that connects to the main cavern. Taking my first left before making my way down the hall to the room that holds a big fireplace. Once there, I make quick work of getting a fire going to keep myself busy before the guys arrive.
Iâm still not sure how I am going to explain everything to them and what it really means for me to be back. But I know I need to tell them something, something that will hopefully keep them at a distance but also close by so my soul will stop aching for them.
Because bonding with them is definitely out of the picture now.
I just canât believe the Fates would be so cruel. They bring me back and give me mates and a familiar just for me to be taken from them all. Killing Lux in the process. I want to scream and punch things, and before I get the chance to do just that. I sense them near before I hear the splashing and gasps fill the pool room, quickly followed by wet footsteps making their way to me.
âPlease, come in,â I state sarcastically as a wet and shirtless Kayne stops in front of me.
In fact, they are all shirtless and looking all too tempting.
âTime to talk, Ella,â Kayne says, a wolfish grin crossing his face.
âFine but grab some towels and dry off youâre getting my fur rugs all wet,â I say, pointing to the pile of towels and dry clothes I scrounged up for them. âAnd please donât pee on the walls to mark your territory,â I add.
While they get dressed, I busy myself with the fire, throwing a few more logs on it to help warm up the guys and give myself a few moments to get my emotions under control. It felt like any moment the storm I was keeping at bay would spill open and I am not sure what type of hurricane Iâm about to release.
When I feel somewhat under control, I turn to face all five of my mates who have surrounded me. Apparently, they donât know what personal space is.
Kayne is the closest to me, âWe remember, Ella.â
âRemember what?â I ask as my heart jumps out of my chest to my throat.
âEverything. You, us, naked forest frolics. All of it, love,â Acyn adds.
I narrow my eyes at them, âOh yeah? Then tell me about one of our frolics through the woods?â
âIt was exactly a week after our mating here in the cave. I told you I had a surprise for you. We went on horseback. The others were already there waiting for us. We fed you and then our real fun began,â Kayne answers, stepping closer. âI bent down and whispered in your ear, âRun, little rabbitâ. We gave you a minute head start before we chased you down. And when we caught you, I pinned your delectable body to a tree, teasing you with kisses and sweet promises of what I was going to do to you while the others removed their clothes.
